Having just come back from a 3-day long conference, I'm excited to report about the extra touches that add value to an event like this. The theme was Americana 50's style. It started at check in when I received a branded notebook with the my itinerary for the 3-days neatly printed on the first pages along with a map, event tickets and other special instructions. At the end of a long day I was excited to find a gift bag dropped in my hotel room full of hotel stay "essentials" like snacks, a hoody sweatshirt, other meeting tools, and a branded watch to commemorate the event. Everything of course consistent in the Americana theme and branded with the signature event logo. Other touches worth mentioning were the "image" pillows scattered atop the club like couches. The cocktail hour was staged as a chic club like lounge with white modern couches and end tables. There were also light up beer steins, necklaces and napkins. Take notes from the pros and add that extra "wow" touch whenever possible to leave a lasting impression on your guests. Marketing 101...be consistent with your brand.

Today I had the pleasure of meeting beauty royalty. Does "The First Lady of Nail Polish" ring a bell? If not then you really need to crawl out from under that rock and pick up any celeb mag and you will understand the brand icon responsible for creating "Vodka & Caviar", "Mucho Dinero" and my favorite "Your Villa or Mine?"
Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, Executive VP of O.P.I. has found their niche and has made O.P.I. a part of beauty pop-culture. It's amazing to know that each color is inspired and made with so much love and thought, overseen and named by Suzi herself.
This blog is dedicated of course to the O.P.I. swag bag and team, but I also wanted to spread the Suzi-word as her words really touched me. Her advice was simple, number one is ALWAYS your customer, always continue to grow your brand and never quit striving for the "wow" factor. Also, invest in good Public Relations professional to help manage your brand. Side note: You must paint your tooties this fall with the new "Espana" collection, fabulous!

September is all about the 36th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards and the swag I'm happy to report was fabulous! Including Inspirational T-Shirts from Chewylou Designs, Bags by Vera Bradley and couture doggy gear by Holly McClain. I want to highlight the Doggy Swag this entry because it is a super hot trend for promotional swag giving. There are several stock doggy leashes, collars, bags and poo bag dispensers available in the promotional industry ready to be imprinted with your corporate logo. This is such a fantastic gift giveaway because we are such a pup-crazed nation; giving such a gift creates a personal feeling with the end-user and sure to be used often!
